The energy at Appian World this year was unforgettable. For the Zimpatica team, the week was defined by a single word: momentum.


While we enjoyed catching up with customers and peers at our poolside cabanas, in the exhibit hall, and during our evening event at the Ritz, our true focus was on the shifting tech landscape. This year wasn’t just about the promise of AI—it was about the industrialization of it.



Appian is in our DNA

This year’s conference felt particularly special as we celebrated a decade of partnership with Appian. At Zimpatica, building on this platform isn't just what we do for clients; it’s our DNA.


We run our own firm on a suite of over 20 interconnected applications that power our entire backend operations. A prime example of our "speed to market" philosophy was our recent move to sunset Salesforce. By leveraging the Appian platform, we successfully launched an MVP of our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) functionality in just a one-month timeframe. This type of firsthand experience allows us to advise our clients with the confidence of a team that builds on the platform every day.

One of the week’s most electric moments was the Live Build Challenge. Our own Architect, Joubin Izadi, took to the stage to compete in the most exciting 50 minutes in low-code.


Watching Joubin rapidly build a functional app prototype from scratch reinforced a core theme of the week: in the age of AI, the ability to iterate quickly is a critical competitive advantage. It was a proud showcase of the technical depth we bring to every engagement and we are very proud of Joubin!



The Strategic Vision: "East Coast AI"

The conference set a grounded tone with a vision described as "East Coast AI." The strategy here is conservative and process-driven. The message was clear: You cannot audit what you do not understand.


For business leaders, this means AI shouldn’t be a "wild west." It should be a sandboxed environment where the process owns the outcome, not the model. This ensures that every AI-assisted decision remains transparent and compliant.



Technical Breakthroughs: Innovation in Practice

Our team spent the week in deep-dive sessions to bring back actionable insights on the pillars that will define the next year of development:


1. The Rise of the AI Agent

We are moving beyond simple "AI Skills" to AI Agents, where organizations can automate with agents that work processes. At Zimpatica, we are already embracing this charge. We are currently leveraging new AI features across our own internal applications—including Timesheets, Contracts, and Expenses—to automate routine reviews and data extraction.


2. AI Spec-Driven Development 

The roadmap for Appian Composer is a game-changer. Soon, AI will be able to read business requirements and generate a plan to build the application automatically. We are incredibly excited to leverage AI in the development process itself, helping our teams deliver high-quality applications for clients quicker than ever before.


3. Process HQ: Faster Insights

Process HQ has matured into a powerful tool for identifying process bottlenecks. We recommend clients explore this feature, especially to find ROI in existing data and unlock hidden efficiencies.
