Build a Blueprint
Let Zimpatica create a FREE blueprint for how to fully transition your applications from Legacy CDTs to Data Fabric and Modern records. We'll share our expertise and experience to identify all objects that would need to be modified as part of the transition, and provide basic estimates for how much time it would take to implement.
Set Up Scaffolding
The first step in the process involves creating Modern Records that mirror your existing CDTs without replacing them. Think of this as creating a new lens to view your existing data. This part of the process is quicker than a full replacement (in Interfaces and Process Models) and will start to enable the use of some Appian AI features, as well as performance improvements.
Full Buildout
The final step in the migration is replacing references to CDTs in Interfaces, Process Models, and Expression Rules. This will enable the performance benefits in all areas of your applications, as well as enable ALL Appian AI features. You'll be able to sunset CDTs and continue development using only Modern Records, speeding up development and staying current on all upcoming Appian features.
Once your applications have been completely migrated to Appian's Modern Records and Data Fabric, you'll be able to seamlessly use all of the newest AI features: AI Copilot (Records Chat, Data Fabric Chat, Document Chat), AI Skills (Document Classification and Extraction) and Process Insights. Your applications will run faster (up to 3x improved query times in our testing), interfaces will be snappier, and developers will have access to the newest time-saving design paradigms.
